My goal was to have a camera that both my wife and I could use for everything.. family pictures, camping trips, wildlife, sports action shots, etc., and I knew that the only way to do all that stuff well was with a good camera and several good lenses.

I splurged on this camera and spent more than I budgeted, but I’m happy I did. The D-90 is easy to use despite its many features, feels balanced and properly weighted, and is comfortable to use. The lens was a nice surprise – image quality is truly excellent. 3″ LCD makes a difference. Have had it for over a year now and have no complaints but did find the lens limiting so I have added an 18-200mm VR wide angle zoom lens and am very pleased with it.

So, in summary, if you’re thinking of moving up from a lesser camera into the pro-sumer DSLR camera, the D90 is (imho) a fantastic choice.

She has been using a 35mm disposable camera every year, so this was a great replacement. Above and beyond anything she has ever had before.

Simple to use, right out of the box, yet customizable enough to rival some digital SLR’s, at half the size. Excellent image quality, allows for cropping & enlarging with very little pixelation. At under $300, I really didn’t think this camera would be everything they said it was.

Got my camera before a trip to Europe, and after reading the reviews, comments and the manual, I got amazing pictures from my trip. The menu is a little confusing at first but if you read the manual, you should be fine.

I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations, and I’m still learning all the features. If your comfortable with a point & shoot, but your ready to step up, this is the perfect camera for you.

“Carlos Betancourt” live in Venezuela, review “Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP 10MP Waterproof Digital Camera” in amazon.com: I bought Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP as a Christmas present for my 18-year-old. It is very easy to use, small easy to carry, and the pictures are great.

I did not expect professional high res images from this little camera. I used it on vacation in Hawaii for snorkeling in the ocean, swimming in pools, on whale watching boats, catamarans, in waterfalls and it held up very well! Some pictures come out slightly blurry if you move while taking them, but most of the images were great. Also, with some minimal photoshop editing any lighting/color issues can be fixed easily.

I read some other reviews saying how water got into it but I think people just did not follow the rules. For starters, do NOT go more than 3 meters under no matter what (don’t say “I am sure it can go deeper they are just saying that to be safe.”) Also, make sure you soak it in fresh water for 5 minutes after you use it and wipe it dry afterwards…if you do that then you will be fine.

Ultimately, if you are looking for an underwater camera this is the one to buy. Its so great you can even use it as your normal everyday camera because then you don’t have to worry about spilling water on it! (That’s what I am doing and i love it!)

After doing extensive research, my short list contained the LX3. This camera was exactly what I needed it to be!

Incredible picture quality, stunning HD videos, compact and portable, performs VERY well. It has a magnificent, wide and fast lens that allows indoor and low-light shooting without flash. Build quality is superb, this is a very solid camera that has a real retro look and feel. While it can be used as a high quality p&s, it also has tremendous manual capabilities. This is a camera you can grow with, a camera that will enhance your skills as a photographer, a camera that is a keeper.

Cons: 2.5x Zoom only, and it has Lens Cap, I don’t like it at all, but if you think about it, all DSLR has lens cap, and If I’m thinking of upgrading later to a DSLR, then I better get used to it.

All in all, very few cons – a wonderful camera, you really can’t go wrong with the Panasonic Lumix LX3.

Perfect point & click for anyone, wide angle is wonderful. Added grip is nice too, not featured on the original LUMIX camera body. The lens 2.0 at 24mm (35mm equiv) is WONDERFUL. I had only taken the camera out once for it to become intuitive. This is my favorite digital non-SLR yet.

This is going to replace my dSLR for travel. How could it not? It’s light and almost tiny! The picture quality is as good under most conditions.

I don’t always want to lug around a huge DSLR and lenses yet I don’t want to completely give up low-light capability. This has been the Point and Shoot pitfall for too long. The S90 changes the rules, allowing you to get very clean shots at ISO 400, decent at ISO 800 and usable at ISO 1600 and 3200. I would print an ISO 800 shot at 8×10 straight out of the camera, to give you some idea of the noise and resolution profile at that setting.

The camera overall is excellent and feels a little more solid then the Canon cameras I owned in the past. The camera is a little taller and thicker then most compact cameras I am used to but it is perfectly portable. It is an excellent take anywhere camera with a good zoom and has a nice wide aperture at the wide end. I chose this camera over the Panasonic LX3 of the control ring on the front and the longer zoom.

My only complaint is that the scroll wheel on the back does not click like every other digital camera Canon makes, I found it quite annoying on a few occasions when my thumb would accidentally graze the scroll wheel resulting in an exposure, shutter speed or ISO change + or – a step… I also found that I had to disable the “special settings” button because of it’s placement, kept tapping it with my thumb and opening whatever settings were available for the Camera Mode I was in.

Overall, I’ve been very happy with the S90 and would recommend it to anyone.

This camera is so small, it fit perfectly in my jacket pocket (w/ my hand). Whenever I wanted to take a quick pic, I was able to whip it out of my pocket, take the pic, and stick it back in my pocket (w/ my cold hand) in record time.

I am not an avid photographer, but I wanted a digital camera at my disposal to capture the many beautiful photo opportunities my grandsons present. Unless you are completely fearful of technology, you will find this camera relatively easy to use. It has some really nice features if you want to play with it a little to figure it out but just to point and shoot it’s pretty straight forward without having to open the manual. I love that you can easily remove red eye and the picture quality seems perfectly adequate to me.

The HD video quality is pretty darn good, most people are surprised that the video I shot came out of this tiny little camera. We love the fact that it does 720p HD video and has HDMI so you can hook it straight up to the tv to watch your videos in High Def.

The battery life is also a wonder, I took a bunch of pictures and filmed about 25-30 minutes worth of video throughout one day and the battery was still at 3 bars. Amazing!!

If you want a camera in your pocket this is the way to go.

I bought this camera after a recent trip to Disney World – I only wish I had bought it BEFORE the trip. Nearly all of their DSC-W290 shots and HD video came out awesome. The shots I took with my 5.0 megapixel couldn’t compare.

The DSC-W290 fits the bill perfectly with its Intelligent mode which identifies all different shooting modes and environments automatically, day or night and adjusts appropriately. The LCD screen at the back is large and clear. The picture quality is amazing with crisp pictures and life-like rich colors. Even more amazing is the high-def video in 780i, total treat to watch on the big screen. The shoot-when-smiling mode actually works great too.

I can’t beleive a digital video camera can be so small and work so well. Technology today just amazes me and this camera is at such a good price too. I never thought I’d ever own a video camera because they are usually so pricey and I never wanted to spend the money on one, but this one was too good to pass up.

I love this camcorder! Its very portable and super easy to work. Just click the power button, and in about two seconds you’re ready to record! The size is perfect for carrying around in a jacket pocket or a purse (my jeans are way too snug for it to fit in my pants). The screen is just the right size and the microphone picks up noises pretty well. I’ve also found that it adjusts fairly well in low-lit settings, although filming during the day is generally best (picture-wise).

Overall, if you’re looking for a good quality, highly portable camcorder, this one is definitely it. I highly recommend this product.

I had doubted that it could really perform like the ads said. I charged the battery and then took it out for a trial run before even reading the manual. What a surprise. I photographed a mockingbird and a buzzard in the top of a tree and a buzzard high in the sky above me. These were at 624 mm focal length and hand held. The results were exhibition quality pictures on the first try! Amazingly “user friendly”, the camera controls are intuitively obvious. The sharpness of these distant birds was beyond my expectations.

The camera has a great weight to it and is very comfortable to hold. I love that it has a flash release button so if you don’t intend on using the flash you just don’t open it. The menu is easy to use. Also, it is not a big clunky camera with a 2 pound lens. Battery life seems to be around 4 hours and only takes about 2 to fully charge. The camera comes with a lens cap and a neck strap, usb cable, tv cable, battery charger and battery. I purchased a spare battery and recommend you search for a true Nikon EL-EN5 battery…I got mine for under $20.

Some have stated that the camera feels cheap because it is so light weight. I actually love that it is light and easy on the neck. Personally, I don’t think it looks or feels “cheap” at all.

Having stated that, I am giving the P90 five stars, because it’s been an amazing, wonderful camera for me, and it’s taking some killer good pictures, especially since I took the time to understand its potential. Repeat after me … “the manual is my friend”.

For this reason, and because I’m also an aficionado of superzoom digital cameras, I was really looking forward to trying out the Kodak EasyShare Z980.

This Z980 is so much fun … It has many settings, manual, auto, etc….. If I take a picture that is grainy, blury, or the lighting isn’t quite right, I change the setting and it comes out crystal clear. I’ve taken moon shots, distance shots, micro close-ups, action shots, portraits … and am really impressed with the quality of the pictures for the cost of the camera. The 24x optical zoom is great.

I have used it all summer to take photos of my nieces soccer games. The pictures came out fantastic. The zoom really helped too. Colors were great even on high saturation (I changed some settings and now high saturation comes out great).

If you are looking for a camera that is more than point & shoot, but don’t want to deal with lenses of the SLRs, this camera is perfect! … and easy!
